Testimonials

I met Dr. Hung Lieu about a year ago through my naturopathic doctor, Dr. Susan Anderson (Dr. Su.) I’d never had acupuncture before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Hung was so wonderful. He explained the needles, what he was going to do, the sensations I would feel and answered all my questions. During acupuncture and massage treatments if I show any signs of discomfort at all, Hung notices immediately and responses with a soothing gentle hand. He doesn’t continue until I’m comfortable once again.

The first treatments I received were for my kidneys which were close to failing. Between Dr. Su’s detox program and Hung’s acupuncture treatments, my kidneys are back to normal. I’ve continued to see Hung for a multitude of minor health problems. He has treated me for a head cold, earache, shoulder strain, and upper and lower back pain. All of these ailments were gone after just a couple of treatments.

I have both Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis that sometimes causes tendonitis in my wrists and hands. When the tendonitis flares up I can barely stand to hold a pen in my hand. Just trying to move my fingers is painful. After a couple acupuncture and acupressure treatments the pain and inflammation is gone. Hung has taught me how to apply pressure to the acupuncture points so when I feel the tendonitis flaring up I can treat myself.

The Osteoarthritis has damaged my knee joints making it very painful to stand or walk. For the last 15 years I’ve walked first with a cane and eventually a walker. Hung is treating me with acupuncture to ease the pain and deep massage and stretching to loosen the muscles and tendons around my knee joints. Progress has been slow because of the length of time that has past and the prescription medications that I’m on but my range of motion has improved and the pain in my knees is greatly reduced.

Please if you are afraid of the needles, not sure if acupuncture will help you or just scared, go and see Dr. Hung Lieu. You will find he really listens to you and shows genuine concern for you and your health. Hung is the kindest, gentlest most caring person I’ve ever met. He will do everything in his power to help you and spends many hours researching new techniques and natural medicines to help his patients. He is truly a unique person that is happiest when he has helped someone feel better

Last year, I had a bone spur on my left foot. The pain was bad enough that I could only walk up to a block or two between my office and parking lot. I avoided walking as much as possible. I put up with the pain for several months before going to the doctor. I went to a family medicine doctor who referred me to a Podiatrist. The Podiatrist x-rayed and examined the foot and quickly concluded that I had a bone spur. One possible cure was to use Cortisone steroid. I had Cortisone shot on my foot. The shot did not cure the bone spur. I had second Cortisone shot a week later. An hour after the second Cortisone shot, the pain was very severe. I considered going to the emergency room, but the pain was reduced back to the previous bone spur pain level after several hours. After two more weeks, the bone spur pain was still the same. I saw the Podiatrist again. Since the Cortisone shots did not work, the only solution offered was surgery. I asked the Podiatrist if Acupuncture might cure the problem. He said that he heard of one or two cases where it did, but did not recommend Acupuncture, but said I could try it.

I then started seeing Hung Lieu (Lieu Acupuncture) to get Acupuncture treatment for the bone spur. The two Cortisone shot complicated the problem, which caused Acupuncture to take more treatments to cure the bone spur. The bone spur pain as fixed in one spot. Gradually, Acupuncture caused the bone spur pain to move and defuse in my foot. Overall, it took about 12 Acupuncture treatments to cure the bone spur problem. It would have taken much fewer treatments if I did not have the Cortisone shots. The bone spur pain has been gone for over one year. Later, Hung Lieu did Acupuncture treatments for back pain after shoveling too much snow or shoveling dirt in the garden. I used to suffer with the back pain for about a week and took Tylenol to temporarily relieve the pain. Back pain was cured after one or two Acupuncture treatments.

My recommendation is to try Acupuncture treatment before more invasive treatments, such as using Cortisone shots or surgery. If surgery is done and does not cure the problem, then Acupuncture may not work after the surgery, and the pain might be permanent with no other options other than pain pills. Acupuncture also works better if you have the Acupuncture treatment as soon as the pain develops instead of putting up with the pain for weeks or months.

I brought my mother to Dr Lieu with a severe pain in her feet. She had problems walking. Dr. Lieu listened to her concern carefully and proposed the treatment plan. The appointments happened three times a week. He was punctual and never rushed during visit. He is very knowledgeable about natural medicine. My mother was cured in a few weeks. I highly recommend him.

I like to take this opportunity to convey my gratitude to Dr. Hung Lieu. His dedication to his craft is greatly appreciated.

When I started seeing Dr. Hung, I had been diagnosed with golfer's elbow and suffered from long-term, frequent insomnia. My GP had advised me to live with the frequent pain in my arm and take OTC for the insomnia. With the golfer's elbow pain I wasn't ready to give up all the things I like to do that requires use of my arms. Dr Hung treated the pain in my elbow with acupuncture and acupressure. After several treatments the pain is now gone. Dr. Hung showed me how to prevent and treat the tendon inflammation if/when it flares up.

I didn't like how the OTC medication for the insomnia made me feel so I'd just been living with sleepless nights. Dr Hung gave me acupuncture treatments and taught me relaxation techniques to help me sleep. I now sleep through the night and awake refreshed and ready to face the day. After living with golfer's elbow and insomnia for several years, I've been "cured" for several months now after only a few treatments.

Dr. Hung is a unique person who not only listens to his patients but also truly wants to help them feel better. He frequently goes above and beyond what you would expect from any doctor and doesn't make you feel like an inconvenience when treating you. I highly recommend him to anyone.

One night, I woke up with this HORRIBLE toe pain. I felt very hot with incredibly sharp pains, and throbbing on my toe. I couldn't move my leg and couldn't sleep. I didn't know what it was but thought that it will go away pretty soon.

The next day, it hurt more. My big toe turned red, swollen, and painful as if there were hundreds of needles poked to it. The pain was so intense that I couldn't move my feet or put socks or shoes on the next morning. I just lay on bed and took some painkillers but it didn't help. Thinking acupuncture may work, my wife took me to Mr. Lieu office.

He told me that I got gout. After his first acupuncture treatment, I received almost instant relief from the pain and swollen. I the could wear me shoe and walk around in his office.

I came back for three more times for treatment and the gout were gone. He also help me with setting up a diet to help balance my uric acid and prevent the recurrence of gout.

I'm amazing of the acupuncture in which, the needles could help to immediately reduce the pain and swollen of the big toe. I would recommend you to go to Mr. Lieu for the acupuncture treatment. Most important to me, however, is that acupuncturist Lieu is the most caring doctor I have ever had. He shows his interest in my well-being in ways I have never experienced from other physicians. I'm really pleased with his treatment and would refer him to other people I know.

I am a runner with an active lifestyle. Last year, I kept feeling a dull pain in my right big toe. I figured I sprained my toe and it would recover fairly soon. The pain was on and off for more than 6 months, then it just got worse. I felt stiffness in my toe and was unable to bend it up or down. I couldn’t walk well, couldn’t run, lost a lot of sleep at night because of the pain. So, I came to see my podiatrist.

After examining my big toe and giving me an X-ray, he said that I have Hallux Rigidus/Limitus, the wearing of the joints in my big toe. He said that the best solution was surgery to remove the worn joint and replace it with an artificial one, but I decided against that. I see surgery as a last resort because a lot of the time it doesn’t work, and sometimes patients end up with even more pain then what was there originally. I also cannot use ibuprofen or aspirin to reduce the pain since it’ll hurt my kidneys and upset my stomach. He then prescribed inserts for my shoe. However, that took more than a month to wait for, and my foot was still in so much pain.

I decided to meet Hung to see if he could reduce the pain in my foot. Hung skillfully and caringly performed the acupuncture, acupressure, and massaged my feet. It really helped! I was so happy to see the great results in pain reduction in a short period of time.

He said that acupuncture helps the body fix my joint problems by itself, but it needs more than one treatment session.

Now I am walking comfortably again!

I’m glad that there is another way to treat this problem without taking any medication (or surgery.) It’s not only inexpensive, but it’s not gonna cut anything from your body!

I am extremely grateful to him for the excellent job he did. He is truly a master!

I work in assembly line for a medical factory. The repetition movement I make for many months make my shoulder hurt. At the night time, I feel pain and not sleep well. Gradually, the pain become so intense it make hard to move my shoulders and neck. I have trouble sleeping because of pain.

I talk to Hung and got treatment. He did acupressure and acupuncture. I feel my shoulder and neck less pain and stiff first treatment. Because of the pleasing result of first treatment, I visit his office for 4 more times and every time, I feel my shoulders and neck are out of pain. Now I enjoy working comfortably again.

I recommend the Lieu Acupuncture for anyone with similar shoulders/neck pain

First, I want to thank Mr. Lieu for all the help he has given me with my allergies.

I get severe allergies in August through September every year and have to take Allegra-D to stop the uncomfortable itching and watery eyes. I also get sneeze, get a stuffy nose and a headache. This year, after reading the Lieu Acupuncture ads, I wanted to try acupuncture for a change to see how it works for allergies.

Mr. Lieu needled my face. I was a bit uneasy at first, but surprisingly, it didn’t hurt! He then let me lay there to rest for 30 minutes and also did acupressure for me on the face. It worked like a charm! All my symptoms were completely gone. I felt much better that day!

After two more treatments, my allergies were practically non-existent. It was like magic. I highly recommend acupuncture and Mr. Lieu for those who want relief without prescription drugs.

I got nausea, dizzy, headache, and so tired the day after I ate an apple that suspect to have an insecticide residue. Any food I ate, I throwing up! The whole morning I tried to get out of bed, but I couldn’t because of the dizziness. I’m so exhausted and thought that I got food poisoning from that apple!

My husband took me to Mr. Lieu. After listening to my pulse, he said that I catch a severe cold. He did some acupressure and acupuncture. Amazing acupuncture and acupressure! I felt a big relieve after that! He told me to take a rest and in about 30 minutes, I could eat a bowl of soup without throwing up. I felt better in the afternoon and could go out to do my gardening as normal!

If you feel uncomfortable with your sickness as I did, acupressure or acupuncture would help!

I would refer more people to Mr. Lieu because of his skill, innovation, and caring for patients in acupuncture and oriental medicine.
